How GarratBV handles personal data, cookies, advertising services and the Google Ads API.

This privacy policy describes how GarratBV processes personal data through this website and its associated advertising and measurement services. We value transparency and handle your data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data we collect

We only collect data required for our services and to measure our online activities:

  • Form submissions: name, email, phone number, postal code/address and the content of your request.
  • Analytics data (Google Analytics 4): anonymised IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, session duration, click behaviour and referral source.
  • Google Ads conversion tracking: Google click ID (gclid), conversion events (e.g. submitted quote form) and aggregated campaign statistics.
  • Functional and session cookies: required for basic site operation, language preference and security.
  • Communications: email, phone and WhatsApp correspondence you initiate with us.

3. Third-party services

We use the following external services. When used, limited data may be shared with them:

  • Google Ads — conversion tracking and remarketing. This lets us measure which ads lead to requests and show relevant ads to previous visitors.
  • Google Analytics 4 — analysing website usage and optimising content and user experience.
  • Hosting & database — our infrastructure providers (EU region) for running the site and storing requests.

Google processes data under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We never sell your data to third parties.

4. How we use data

  • Ad performance reporting: internal use only, to assess the effectiveness of our campaigns.
  • Website optimisation: improving content, speed and user experience based on aggregated statistics.
  • Conversion measurement: identifying which channels and ads lead to quote requests.
  • Contract performance: contacting you, preparing quotes, scheduling work and invoicing.
  • Analytics and marketing scripts (Google Analytics, Google Ads) are only loaded after you give consent via the cookie banner.
  • Our own first-party analytics (pageviews, visitor measurement, heatmap) are likewise only executed after your analytics consent. No tracking cookies, localStorage IDs or analytics requests are created before consent.
  • Functional cookies required for the site to operate (including the consent cookie itself) are placed without consent.
  • You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page, or via your browser settings.

6. Google Ads API usage

GarratBV uses the Google Ads API to build internal reporting. In line with Google's API compliance requirements we explicitly state:

  • The API is used in read-only mode only.
  • Usage is limited to internal reporting dashboards for our own campaigns.
  • No user data is written or modified via the API.
  • Dashboards are authenticated and accessible only to admin users within GarratBV.
  • No API data is shared with or resold to third parties.

7. Data protection, retention & your rights

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), need-to-know access control, EU hosting and regular infrastructure updates.

Retention periods:

  • Quote requests without follow-up: 12 months.
  • Customer data for completed work: 7 years (legal obligation).
  • Website analytics (GA4): maximum 14 months.
  • Google Ads conversion data: per Google settings, maximum 14 months.

Your rights under the GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Send a request to info@garratbv.nl; we respond within 30 days. You may also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
